Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Pixaset collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our website, app, accounts, cloud-saving features, payment features, and related services. By using Pixaset, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
This policy is intended to support transparency and compliance with applicable privacy obligations, including Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”), where applicable.
1. Information We Collect
Pixaset collects information only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the service. This may include:
- Account information: such as your email address, authentication provider information, user ID, and login status.
- Project and file data: images, pixel art, videos, palettes, project names, folders, saved files, exported files, and other content you choose to upload, save, edit, or generate inside Pixaset.
- Backend and database data: information required to connect your account to your saved projects, subscription status, storage usage, app settings, and related records.
- Payment and subscription information: subscription tier, billing status, checkout status, and payment events processed through third-party payment providers. Pixaset does not intentionally store full credit card numbers on its own servers.
- Technical information: browser type, device information, IP address, error logs, usage events, security logs, and similar diagnostic data.
- Support communications: messages, emails, bug reports, or other information you send to us when requesting help.
2. Why We Collect Information
We collect and use information for the following purposes:
- to create and manage user accounts;
- to save, load, organize, and sync user projects through the backend;
- to provide cloud storage and editing functionality;
- to process subscriptions, free trials, billing status, and access to paid features;
- to prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security incidents;
- to troubleshoot bugs, improve performance, and maintain the service;
- to respond to user support requests;
- to comply with legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations.
3. User Content and Project Files
Pixaset is built to let users upload, edit, save, and manage creative files. Your uploaded files and project data may be stored in our backend systems or third-party infrastructure providers so that the app can provide cloud save, project recovery, account syncing, and export functionality.
We do not claim ownership over your uploaded creative work. You remain responsible for the content you upload and for ensuring that you have the rights to use, edit, store, or export that content through Pixaset.
We do not access user project files for ordinary browsing or personal viewing. However, limited access may occur where necessary to provide support, investigate bugs, enforce policies, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, or protect the service and its users.
4. Backend, Cloud Storage, and Service Providers
Pixaset may use third-party providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, file storage, payments, analytics, security, and deployment. These providers may process information on Pixaset’s behalf only as needed to provide their services.
Current or future providers may include services such as hosting platforms, backend/database providers, authentication providers, payment processors, email providers, and error-monitoring tools. These providers may store or process information in Canada, the United States, or other jurisdictions where they or their infrastructure operate.
5. Payments
Pixaset may use third-party payment processors to handle subscriptions, trials, purchases, invoices, and payment events. Payment processors may collect and process billing details directly according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations. Pixaset generally receives limited payment-related information, such as subscription status, plan type, customer ID, transaction status, and billing event metadata.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
Pixaset may use cookies, local storage, session storage, or similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, restore unsaved work, store temporary app state, support security, and improve the user experience.
You may be able to disable cookies or clear local storage through your browser settings. Some Pixaset features may not work correctly if these technologies are disabled or deleted.
7. How We Share Information
Pixaset does not sell your personal information. We may share information only in limited circumstances, including:
- with service providers that help operate Pixaset;
- with payment processors to manage billing and subscriptions;
- when required by law, court order, regulation, or legal process;
- to protect Pixaset, users, or the public from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm;
- in connection with a business transfer, merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information and user content only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, maintaining accounts, complying with legal obligations, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and maintaining backups.
If you delete your account or request deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize personal information and project data, unless retention is required for legal, security, backup, billing, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business reasons.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information and user content against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no online service, database, or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Service-related messages, such as account, security, billing, or important product notices, may still be sent where necessary.
12. Children’s Privacy
Pixaset is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Pixaset, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
13. International Users
If you access Pixaset from outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada, the United States, or other countries. These jurisdictions may have data protection laws different from those in your location.
